Smile seems to be the focus of everything we do at Kurialacherry House! It is a traditional Family house situated in an Island name as Manapra on the Keralan Backwaters. Venerable Thomas Kurialacherry (January 14, 1873 – February 6, 1925) was a member of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, and was the first bishop, of what would become the Archdiocese of Changanassery. Now a couple of rooms converted from a superb antique granary, complete with original wood architecture and fixtures intact, retaining their original grandeur with river facing verandas., Kurialacherry Homestay stands calm and serene on the bank of the river Pampa, laced with coconut trees on either side. With its exotic river front location, green paddy fields at the backyard, rooms featuring traditional Kerala architecture and modern facilities. With the delightful mood of a family atmosphere and delicious homemade food, Kurialacherry Homestay is an ideal retreat into the soothing lap of nature and a prefect getaway from the din and bustle of everyday life.

Feel the village and the laid down life styles on the backwaters. Markets, walk to a local temple to see Pooja, visit the ancient St. Marys Forane church on the backwaters, go on a canoe to chase the stunning sunsets, at night go fishing the local way. Cherish your memoirs visiting a school nearby, spending time with the Students. It is going back on time.
CUISINE :
Traditional and homely food, usually set between the Guest and Jacob – The ever-smiling Host. vegetables/meat/poultries are not stored in the freezers and it is better to fix the meal in advance. Generally, it’s a lot connected with Syrian Christian cooking. Jacob even allows his guests to his kitchen and hands on experience for those who ask for it.

We are around 17 Km away from Alleppey railway station and from The Nearest airport is Cochin International airport – 110 Kms l 3 hrs and the nearest town is Alleppy – 15 Kms away. Ideal for using enroute Cochin-Thekkady/Kovalam or Kovalam – Thekkady or just as a Backwater Experience. Minimum 2 Nights. Total – 6 rooms
