The shikara is a traditional motorized boat with covered roof, open sides, and comfortable seats. Cruising the river and canals in a shikara affords a close up view of life on the river. Even when temperatures are high, journeying through the backwaters in this way is quite relaxing as the breeze is cool. The shikkara boat also allows for travel in canals too narrow for the larger houseboats.
The Cuisine is typical Kuttanadan. The vegetables are from the Organic Garden and fish from the owm farm. Witness how the experienced hands in the old kitchen create these exquisite dishes.
Enjoy a walk along the waters and experience traditional fishing techniques with bow and arrow, spear, and nets. Catch your own tiger prawns, pearl spot, and other varieties of local fish, which could be your meal next day, as well!
